A commanding personality of the culture of the inter-bellic period, Lucian Blaga, a Romanian philosopher, author, university professor, and diplomat, is noted in the respective period for elements of originality which bring him universal regard. He was born on May 9, 1865 in Lancr?m, near Alba Iulia, Romania, into a family of priests.
