Loyal to the Game

Loyal to the Game is an album containing previously unreleased music recorded by Tupac Shakur before his death in 1996. Released in the US on December 14th 2004 (December 12th in the UK), the album is produced by Eminem, and is consequently very reminiscent of Eminem's style.

According to an interview with MTV, Eminem was so moved by Tupac's life and work that he wrote a letter to Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, asking her to consider letting him produce the album. She agreed, and gave the go ahead for artists from Eminem's Shady Records, such as 50 Cent, G-Unit and Obie Trice to appear on the album, as well as popular artists Dido and Elton John.

Many fans of Tupac have criticised the new album, for the way that Tupac's vocals have been digitally altered. For example, his voice was sped up on both "Ghetto Gospel" and "Crooked Nigga Too", the later so fast that many critics said Tupac's voice was almost unrecognizable. His vocals were also cut and pasted to make it sound like Tupac is saying "2005", "Em", "G-Unit", "Trice" and "50".

This is Tupac's fifth posthumous release but not his last as there are plans for at least one more album.
