It was established in 2003 by the recorder players Angélica Castelló (Mex) and Maja Osojnik (Si), double bass players Matija Schellander (A) and Herwig Neugebauer (A) - who joined in 2004 - , drummer Mathias Koch (A) and Thomas Grill (A) on live electronics. These musicians all guarantee for a richness of ideas and strong personalities. The unusual instrumentation and the exploration of all available sounds adds to the special flavor of the Low Frequency Orchestra.

All musicians have been and are playing various musical styles that use more or less improvisation - (free) jazz, early music - to name a few - and bring these experiences into the CUT-titled concerts. The improvisations range from terse statements and fast-evolving stories to static landscapes.
