"Loverboy" is one of Carey's most infamous singles, for its formulaic song structure and racy video. It was co-written by Carey and co-produced by her and Clark Kent. It is built over a sample of the Cameo song "Candy", and Cameo themselves also sing. The song is Carey's ode to lust as she fantasizes about her "loverboy".
