Love Affair (musical group)

Love Affair were a London-based pop group of the late 1960's, featuring Steve Ellis (vocals), Rex Brayley (guitar), Maurice Baker (drums) and Mick Jackson (bass). They stormed to the top of the UK charts in with their first single, Everlasting Love. Ellis had a similar vocal style to Steve Marriott of the Small Faces, and the production was similar to a Motown soul record.

Four further top 20 hits followed, Rainbow Valley (UK no.5), A Day Without Love (UK No.6), One Road (UK No.16) and Bringing On Back The Good Times (UK No.9). Love Affair sold more singles in 1968 in the UK than any other band except for the Beatles.

However, soon the hits dried up, and in December 1969, Steve Ellis split in pursuit of a solo career, and the band soldiered on without any further success.

Love Affair's first hit song, Everlasting Love, was recently used in the film , although the CD of the soundtrack contains Jamie Cullum's version instead of the Love Affair version used in the film.
