Lord Voldemort

Pronunciation

Voldemort's name means Flight from Death or Theft of Death in French, and J.K. Rowling personally uses a French pronunciation for his name, i.e. Vol-de-mor (with a silent t). However, the movies use an English pronunciation and the t is pronounced, e.g. Vol-de-mort. Since J.K. Rowling has final creative control over the movies, it can be inferred that these different pronunciations are not significant.
