Lonnie Donegan

Lonnie Donegan MBE (April 29, 1931 – November 3, 2002) was a skiffle musician, possibly the most famous of them all. He is sometimes called the King of Skiffle and is often cited as a large influence on the generation of British musicians who became famous in the 1960s.

Trivia

Lonnie Donegan is linked to Ronald Reagan twice over. They once appeared on the same Perry Como show. Woody Allen made his debut on the same show. When news of one of Lonnie's heart attacks reached Japan, the Tokyo stock exchange fell. This is because the words "Lonnie Donegan" sound similar to "Ronald Reagan" to Japanese ears.
