Getting released soon after Allan Clarke left the group, the song became a rare flop in the United Kingdom, at which point Clarke had been replaced by Michael Rickfors, but as it became a hit in the United States, Clarke rethought his notions of a possible solo career. It was inspired and in the style of the rock and roll group Creedence Clearwater Revival.
