Lone Pine, California
Lone Pine is a census-designated place located in Inyo County, California. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,655. The town is located in the Owens Valley, near the Alabama Hills.

On March 26, 1872 a very large earthquake destroyed most of the town and killed 27 of its 250-300 residents (see 1872 Lone Pine earthquake).
