The term lockout has the following uses:

- Lockout (industry) is a work stoppage in which an employer prevents some or all employees from working, even to the extent closing the business.
- Lockout (telecommunication) is a system of preventing unwanted signals
- A lockout is a workplace safety system to prevent activation of heavy machinery while a worker may be inside. A worker places a padlock or other device on the control of a machine to prevent anyone else from operating it and retains the lock's key.
- A lockout occurs when a car key locked inside a car it opens.
- Lockout is a map on the xbox game Halo 2.
