Lizzie Grubman

Lizzie Grubman (born 1971) is an American criminal. She gained notoriety in July 2001 when she drove her SUV into a crowd of people outside a Long Island nightclub, injuring 16 people. After being asked by security guards to remove her father's leased Mercedes from a fire lane, she backed the vehicle into the crowd, apparently in a fit of pique. She fled the scene, and was later charged in a 26-count indictment, for felony crimes including assault, driving while intoxicated, and reckless endangerment, but escaped long-term imprisonment by a plea bargain. Grubman had been facing up to eight years in prison.
