Live at Five
Live at Five (or Live at 5) is a name used by many television stations in the United States and Canada to refer to their local newscasts or talk shows that air at 5:00 PM.

The name was first used on WNBC-TV in New York City in 1980 for a lifestyle and celebrity news show. Other television stations picked up the name through the 1980s, to varying degrees of success. See Live at Five (WNBC).

With the possible exception of WNBC, the most popular treatment Live at Five format was on the ATV network in Atlantic Canada. Its version of Live at 5 premiered in 1982 and continues to this day, staying true to the original format. ATV often boasts of a 51% ratings share for Live at 5.
