Counter-revolutionary
Used in communist countries, especially the People's Republic of China during the Cultural Revolution, to refer to people whom others felt were betraying the communist revolution. Also used in the Soviet Union. Notice, however, that the term is not necessarely an insult in and of itself; the contras of Nicaragua, who waged a guerilla war against the Sandanista regime led by Daniel Ortega during the 1980s, proudly wore the label.
