Companies such as Red Hat, SUSE and Mandriva, and community projects such as Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo Linux, and the entirely-free Ututo, assemble and test the software before releasing their distribution. There are currently over three hundred Linux distribution projects in active development, revising and improving their respective distributions.
