Lincoln County, West Virginia

Lincoln County is located in the state of West Virginia. As of 2000, the population is 22,108. Its county seat is Hamlin6. The county was named for Abraham Lincoln. After the American Civil War, there was an effort by former Confederates to rename the area 'Davis County' after Jefferson Davis, but effort proved fruitless.
