Lifetime Television
Founded in 1984, Lifetime Television is an American television network which is marketed towards women. It airs movies that feature women in lead roles, as well as sitcoms and dramas that are geared towards women. Its tagline, since 1995, has been Television for Women (infamously parodied on Family Guy as Television for Idiots and in pop culture as Television for Women and Gay Men).
Criticism
Lifetime has been often criticized for a lack of variety in the movies shown on the station. It has also been criticized for being sexist towards men.
