Life Goes On
The television series Life Goes On aired on ABC from 1989 to 1993. It sympathetically portrayed the life of teenager Corky Thatcher, who had Down's syndrome, and his family. The actor who played Corky, Chris Burke, also had Down's syndrome, which was a relative first for American television and was mentioned in the press. In later years, the show would also dwell heavily on the issue of AIDS, when Corky's sister Becca (Kellie Martin) began dating Jessie, an HIV positive man.
Trivia
- The theme song was a cover of "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da", as sung by star Patti LuPone and the rest of the cast.
