Leyton


 
 

Leyton is a place in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, situated on the Prime Meridian and north of the River Thames. Leyton means "Town on the River Ley" and the name has been around since the 9th century. Leyton is 6.2 miles (10 km) north east of Charing Cross, and less than 1 mile from the proposed olympic village in the 2012 Olympics.
