Lesley Stahl


 
 

Lesley R. Stahl (born December 16, 1941, in Swampscott, Massachusetts) is an American television journalist for CBS. She has been on 60 Minutes for thirteen seasons and also anchors 48 Hours Investigates.

A graduate of Wheaton College, she was previously White House correspondent during the presidencies of Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George H.W. Bush. She was the moderator of Face the Nation from September 1983 to May 1991.

Al Gore announced he would not run for president again during a 60 Minutes interview with her.
