Legislative Assembly of Manitoba


 

The Legislative Assembly of Manitoba is the legislative branch of government in the Canadian province of Manitoba. Fifty-seven members are elected to this assembly in provincial general elections, all in single-member constituencies. The actual legislative building is located in central Winnipeg, at the meeting point of the Wolseley and Fort Rouge constituencies.

There is currently one vacancy. John Loewen, previously the Progressive Conservative member for Fort Whyte, resigned from the assembly on September 26, 2005 to seek the Liberal Party of Canada's nomination in the federal riding of Charleswood?St. James?Assiniboia.
