Laurel, Mississippi
Laurel is a city located in Jones County in Mississippi, a state of the United States of America. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 18,393. Located in southeast Mississippi, southeast of Jackson on Tallahala Creek, Laurel was founded in 1881. One of Laurel's major employers is Howard Industries. An American Indian reservation is located nearby.
Transportation
Amtrak's Crescent train connects Laurel with the cities of New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Charlotte, Atlanta, Birmingham and New Orleans. The Amtrak station is situated at 230 North Maple Street.
