Laranjeiras

Laranjeiras is a primarily residential neighborhood located in the Southern Zone of Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the city's oldest neighborhoods, being founded in the 17th century, with the construction of country houses in the valley located around Carioca River, which bordered Corcovado. Because of this, the neighborhood were previously called "Vale do Carioca", or Carioca Valley.
