Lamesa, Texas
Lamesa is a city located in Dawson County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 9,952. It is the county seat of Dawson County{{GR|6}}. Located south of Lubbock on t he Llano Estacado, Lamesa was founded in 1903. Most of the economy is based on cattle and cotton.

Lamesa is located at 32°44'4" North, 101°57'29" West (32.734439, -101.958190){{GR|1}}.
