LaMarr Hoyt

Dewey LaMarr Hoyt (born January 1, 1955 in Columbia, South Carolina) is a former right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who led the American League in wins in 1982 and again in 1983 while with the Chicago White Sox. His 24 wins in 1983 gained him Cy Young Award honors for that season. After falling off quite a bit in 1984, he was dealt to the San Diego Padres for Ozzie Guillen, Tim Lollar and Luis Salazar. Hoyt return to form in 1985, gaining a position on the All-Star squad of the National League, and earning MVP honors in the game. Hoyt never fulfulled his potential due to his off-field struggles.
