Lamarmora


 
 

The Lamarmora were a Biellese family, an offshoot of the Ferrero family, noted chiefly for the three brothers Alfonso, Alessandro and Alberto, Italian generals. Alessandro founded the branch of the Italian army now called the "Bersaglieri".

Biellese: The Biellese (also known as Biellese-Bergamasca) is a breed of domesticated sheep originating from the Piedmont region of Italy. It is a carpet wool breed used for meat production and belongs to the Lop-eared Alpine group of sheep breeds....

Bersaglieri: The Bersaglieri are a corps of the Italian army created by General Alessandro Lamarmora in 1836. They have always been a high-mobility infantry unit, and can be still recognized from the particular hat they wear, which is decorated with capercaillie feathers....
