Lakshmipathy Balaji


 
 

Lakshmipathy Balaji (born September 27, 1981, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India) is an Indian cricketer and member of the Indian cricket team since 2003. He is a right arm medium fast bowler. Playing for his state team since 2001, he was lucky to be picked early for the national side. He made his test debut against New Zealand at Ahmedabad in 2003. He was recognized after his performance in the India-Pakistan series. But after an injury, his international career was put on hold. He made a comeback in Pakistan's 2005 tour of India scalping 5 wickets in the first innings. Since then, he has become a regular member of the Indian Cricket team.
