Lake Worth is a city located in Palm Beach County, Florida, named for General William J. Worth, who led U.S. forces during the Second Seminole War. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 35,133. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 35,485 .
