Lake Forest is a city located in Lake County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 20,059. The city is south of Waukegan, Illinois, on the shore of Lake Michigan. Lake Forest was laid out as a town in 1857.
Geography
Lake Forest is located in the North Shore area, at 42°14'5" North, 87°51'3" West (42.234788, -87.851042){{GR|1}}.
