L?ten is a municipality in the county of Hedmark, Norway.

The name come from old Norwegian "Lautin".

The word is the combination of "Laut" and "vin" where "Laut" means a hollow depression in the ground and "vin" which means a natural meadow. The name was written "L?ten" from the beginning of the 19th century.

L?ten is the most eastern of the original villages in Hedmark where it is lays between Hamar municipality to the west north west, Stange municipality to the west south west, and Elverum municipality to the east. Small portions of the municipality border on ?mot in the far north and V?ler in the south.
