Kreuzspiel
Kreuzspiel (Crossplay) is a composition by Karlheinz Stockhausen written for oboe, bass clarinet, piano and three percussionists in 1951. Premiered at Darmstadt in the summer of 1952 where the work, according to Stockhausen, "was violently interrupted by the public". With characteristic bravado, he claims, "I knew when I wrote it that it would sound like nothing else in the world".
