 - A Kook may refer to a Crank (person) in the United States, or to a similar type of individual (the net.kook) found on Usenet on the newsgroup alt.usenet.kooks.
- A Kook may refer to a slang word used by surfers to describe a beginner surfer, a wanna-be or a pretend surfer. The name comes from the cartoon character ?Wilbur Kookmeyer?, who was created by Bob Penuelas in 1986 as a two-page feature in Surfer Magazine. Here is the [official web site] of this cartoon. It is now also used to describe a beginner skateboarder.
