• A Kook may refer to a slang word used by surfers to describe a beginner surfer, a wanna-be or a pretend surfer. The name comes from the cartoon character ?Wilbur Kookmeyer?, who was created by Bob Penuelas in 1986 as a two-page feature in Surfer Magazine. Here is the [official web site] of this cartoon.
