KITS

The American radio station KITS, better known as Live 105, is a modern rock station in San Francisco. It broadcasts Howard Stern weekdays at 6 a.m. and Loveline at 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursdays. Every weekday, it plays Rewind at Noon which are tracks that Live 105 used to play in the 1980's and 1990's. Friday nights from 6:00 to 6:30 P.M., the Sixx Mixx program, run and mixed by Party Ben, is a major staple of the mash-up community, and is generally considered the genre's major American radio broadcast. On Sunday mornings from midnight to 5 a.m., it broadcasts Subsonic, which plays remixes of some of their artists and electronic music. On Sunday night at 8 p.m., it broadcasts Soundcheck, which plays upcoming bands or underground bands who are not on heavy rotation.

Live 105 hosts two big festival concerts every year. One is the Live 105 BFD which some bands with tracks on heavy rotation perform at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, usually on the second Friday in June. The first BFD concert got started in 1994. The other major concert is the Not So Silent Night, which plays sometime in December.

Live 105 is owned by Infinity Broadcasting. Before 1986, the station was once called The Quake, and in 1998, the Howard Stern Show, LoveLine, and some DJ's like Ally Storm and the DJ with No Name moved from KOME in San Jose, California replacing some of the personnel on Live 105. Before that period, a similar hour like Rewind at Noon was called Flashback Lunch Hour. Also, it used to have shows like the Reggae Sound System on Sunday evenings.
