Kirksville, Missouri
Kirksville is a city located in Adair County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 16,988. It is the county seat of Adair County{{GR|6}}. Kirksville also anchors a micropolitan area that comprises of Adair and Schuyler counties
Features of Interest
Kirksville is home to two institutions of higher learning:

- Truman State University, originally the North Missouri Normal School and Commercial College, and more recently Northeast Missouri State University.
- The Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, the first and oldest osteopathic school. It is the flagship campus of A. T. Still University.
Just outside Kirksville is Thousand Hills State Park, centered around a human-made lake.
