Kindness

Kindness is a quality, a virtue, that can be acquired by any person.

Kindness does not extort, oppress, seek to dominate or beat; kindness would have it be that each person and each animal and each and every form of life is given everything that it needs to live its life as it was meant to be.

So God, the Creator of the Universe and all within it, is clearly kind, for do we not have food, water, a good climate, friends and companions for our Earthly existence? If God were not kind then for us eating would be painful but most often it is a pleasure.

Kindness can save a life, and collective kindness can save the human race.

"You can't give back, you can only give forward. Kindness always begins with the person in front of us, whether it's a family member, a friend or a stranger. Our actions are the basis for how we're judged; the essence of the legacy we leave. As we go through daily life,we can sometimes glimpse that a material part of ourselves is missing, something that remains hidden, undefined and unfilled. As Thoreau noted in 'Walden', "When we are unhurried and wise, we perceive that only great and worthy things have any permanent and absolute existence...explore your own higher latitudes." Kind thoughts lead to kind words and to kind actions that become the reflection of our character. Happiness and peace begin where selfishness ends.

e.e.cummings said that 'The hardest thing in the world is being yourself...There is no reason to rejoice for the man who would rather walk with the noise, than hear the voice. Kindness allows us to find ourselves, then become ourselves, by helping others.
