Kikinda
Kikinda (Serbian: ??????? or Kikinda, Hungarian: Nagykikinda, Romanian: Chichinda Mare, Slovak: Kikinda, Rusin: ???????, Croatian: Kikinda) is a city located in Serbia and Montenegro at 45.84° North, 20.45° East. In 2002 the city has a total population of 41,825, while Kikinda municipality has 66,800 inhabitants. It is the administrative centre of the North Banat District of Serbia.
Ethnic groups
- Serbs = 52,111 (76%)
- Hungarians = 8,607 (12.8%)
- Others.
One local community has a Hungarian majority: Sajan (Hungarian: Szaján). Two others have over 20% Hungarians: Banatska Topola (Hungarian:Töröktopolya) and Rusko Selo (Hungarian:Torontáloroszi).
