Kevin Eubanks

Kevin Tyrone Eubanks (born November 15, 1957) is an American jazz guitarist.

He played with Art Blakey, Roy Haynes, Slide Hampton, and Sam Rivers before starting to lead his own groups in 1983. Since 1995 he has been the leader of the Tonight Show Band. Jay Leno often lampoons Eubanks for his marijuana use, and Kevin is often the butt of Leno's jokes -- although Kevin has been known to make a few jokes at Leno's expense.

Like his brother Robin Eubanks, a jazz trombonist, he has played on record with Dave Holland.

Eubanks is from Philadelphia and frequently wears Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia 76ers jerseys or hats on the show to support his teams.

On May 7, 2005, Eubanks received an honorary doctorate degree from the Berklee College of Music.

Kevin Eubanks is also an enthusiastic vegetarian, promoting the vegetarian lifestyle as being conducive to good health.
