Kentucky Lake
Kentucky Lake is an artificial lake or impoundment created in the Tennessee River Valley by the Kentucky Dam. It provides a source for hydro-electric power and is a recreational magnet in southern Kentucky and western Tennessee. The lake extends for 180 miles to the south and covers over 160,000 acres.

The dam was started in 1938 and completed on August 30, 1944 as a public works project of the Tennessee Valley Authority.
