Kenneth Bianchi


 

Kenneth Alessio Bianchi born May 22, 1951 in Rochester, New York is, along with cousin Angelo Buono, Jr., one of the Hillside Stranglers. He is serving a prison term in Washington. His biological mother was an alcoholic prostitute and she gave him up for adoption at birth. He was adopted at age three by Frances Bianchi and her husband.

During his process he pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming that another personality, Steve, had committed the crimes. The prosecution pointed out that this personality did not appear until Bianchi was hypnotized, and only after Bianchi was told by the examiner that the procedure would reveal another part of him. A third psychiatrist was called into examine Kenneth Biachi after specualtion his claims were falsified, Dr. Orne exposed his claims of a multiple personality disorder (now known as Dissociative Identity Disorder. The court refused to accept this claim of multiple personality disorder, he agreed to admit to everything and later testified against his cousin Angelo Buono, Jr.
