Kendray

Kendray is an estate in the borough of Barnsley in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The estate lies between Sheffield road and Doncaster road, both of which lead out of Barnsley town centre. Kendray is one of the poorer areas of Barnsley, with social problems similar to those of Grimethorpe. Just under half of the old housing in Kendray has been demolished and replaced with grass fields. An amphitheatre and playground have been built on one of the old sites, and new housing is being conscructed on the other remaining sites. There are also plans to build a sport/leisure centre on one of the sites.
