Kelly Slater

Kelly Slater (born February 11, 1972) is a top professional surfer from Cocoa Beach, Florida. He was six-time world champion (1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998) and took many modern surfing moves to a new level. He also acted for one season on the American TV series Baywatch as the character Jimmy Slade. He was also involved in the X-Games in 2003 and 2004 and has been a big factor that has helped the East Coast beat the West Coast team two years in a row in the Surfing competition.

He made a cameo appearance in the video clip for Garbage's 1999 single "You Look So Fine" playing a man washed-up on a beach lovingly nursed back to life by siren singer Shirley Manson. His then-girlfriend Pamela Anderson was also present at the video shoot, directed by Stephane Sednaoiu.

In the 2005 Billabong Pro Tahiti event on the ASP World Championship Tour, Kelly set an ASP record by scoring 2 perfect 10s in a final. Kelly is the first to have a perfect heat since the two-wave scoring system was implemented.
