High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (????????????? K? Enerug? Kasokuki Kenky? Kik?), commonly known as KEK, is the high-energy physics research organization in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. The two major accelerators are the 12 GeV Proton Synchrotron (scheduled for decommissioning in 2005 or 2006) and the KEKB electron-positron collider. J-PARC proton accelerator is under construction in Tokaimura.
