Keene is a city located in Cheshire County, New Hampshire. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 22,563. It is the county seat of Cheshire County{{GR|6}}.

The town is well known for holding the Guinness Book of World Records record for most lit Jack o'lanterns at one time and place. Each year the town attempts to surpass its own record during the Pumpkin Fest held in late October.
