~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ KCET is the preeminent public television station in Southern California. Broadcasting on channel 28 in Los Angeles, the studio is located at 4401 West Sunset Boulevard. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Hallmark programs include Life & Times and Huell Howser's California's Gold. They also produce the weekday program The Tavis Smiley Show and recently, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, have produced a six-part miniseries in conjunction with the BBC called Auschwitz: Inside the Nazi State. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ KCET purchased the property for their studio in Los Angeles in 1971, assisted financially in part by both the Ford Foundation and the Michael Connell Foundation. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
