Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics
The Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics (KITP) is an institute of the University of California, Santa Barbara.

It is one of the most renowned institutes for theoretical physics in the world. It was founded in 1979 by Nobel prize laureate Walter Kohn, now retired. It is directed by David J. Gross, another Nobel prize winner, as of 2004.
