Kaufman County, Texas
Kaufman County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 71,313. Its county seat is Kaufman6, and the county is part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Kaufman County is named for David Spangler Kaufman, a U.S. congressman from Texas.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,090 km² (807 mi²). 2,036 km² (786 mi²) of it is land and 54 km² (21 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.57% water.
