Kathy Mitchell
Kathy Mitchell (nee Hills) is a fictional character in the British soap opera EastEnders. She is played by Gillian Taylforth.

Kathy was married to Pete Beale, and together they were parents to Ian Beale. Before the first episode, she had already been raped when she was14 by Marcus Duffy. She would then be raped again in 1988 by James Wilmott-Brown . Kathy had taken employment as a barmaid at the Dagmar, and Wilmott had been slowly moving onto her, Pete described Kathy as dressing like a tart which pushed her closer to Wilmott but when he attacked and raped her she was left bruised and shocked. It resulted in the breakdown of her marriage to Pete.

In 1994, Phil Mitchell proposed to Kathy and she accepted. However on the night of the engagement party, Kathy learned of Sharon and Phil?s relationship resulting in her slapping Sharon, calling her a slut.

Kathy found herself pregnant by Phil and gave birth to a baby boy ? Ben ? in 1996. But Kathy and Phil were arguing at the end of the year, which became more violent as Phil became an alcoholic.

As her marriage to Phil ended, Kathy spent the night with his brother Grant, she also had a brief encounter with Alex Healy. In the end she left the Square to get away from all of them. She currently lives with her son in Cape Town, and has since remarried.
