Katherine Dreier
Katherine Sophie Dreier (1877 – 1952) was an American painter and art collector.

From 1907, she traveled in Europe where she came to know avant-garde artists and writers.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Committed to modern art, Dreier involved herself with the Society of Independent Artists. With Man Ray and Marcel Duchamp in 1920 she founded Société Anonyme to promote modern art with travelling exhibitions and conferences.

Her paintings are abstract with spiritual emphasis, and she was a member of the Abstraction-Création group.
