Kate Pierson

Kate Pierson (born 27 April 1948) is one of the lead singers of The B-52's. She also has played keyboard and guitar for the band.

She has collaborated with Iggy Pop, R.E.M., the Ramones and Matthew Sweet. She was also a member of NiNa (along with Yuki Isoya), a Japanese supergroup.

She played in Athens, Georgia, and soon the club scene in New York City, with the B-52's at the same time as such bands as the Indigo Girls and R.E.M.

In 2004 Pierson opened Kate's Lazy Meadow Motel in Mt. Tremper, NY. Located near the Catskills in upstate New York and close to historic Woodstock. Lazy Meadow is a retreat in the wilderness seated on nine acres.
