Nine other Kanakuk Camps have been built in Missouri and Colorado since 1979. The current Kanakuk president is Joe White, a regular speaker on the evangelical Promise Keepers movement for men. The camp's theology is closely in line with fundamentalist Christians, such as James Dobson, who is a regular promoter of the camp.
