Kakashi Gaiden

Kakashi Gaiden is a small six-part spinoff manga based off of the popular manga Naruto, by Masashi Kishimoto. Kishimoto published the miniseries in place of the regular Naruto storyline in Shonen Jump, which last through chapters 239-244. The Gaiden acts as an intermission between the end of the first Naruto arc and the brand-new story arc, which skips ahead 2 and 1/2 years into the future.

The story surrounds a very young Hatake Kakashi, who embarks on a mission with his team (which includes another boy named Characters of Naruto, a relative of Uchiha Sasuke), a medic kunoichi named Rin, and their teacher, the future Yondaime Hokage. When the team is ambushed by enemy ninja, Kakashi's life changes forever in a whirlwind of anger, tragedy and sacrifice.
